A New Era for Kosmos Innovation Center in Ghana…

When we launched the Kosmos Innovation Center in Ghana in 2016, a big part of our vision was giving entrepreneurs in the agribusiness/agritech sector the initial support they needed for their great ideas to become self-sustaining realities. Over the years, the Kosmos Innovation Center in Ghana, a cornerstone of Kosmos Energy’s commitment to social investment in our host nations, has trained more than 600 aspiring entrepreneurs, helped create or support 42 promising small businesses, and helped more than 100,000 farmers through the start-ups and small businesses.

Now the Kosmos Innovation Center in Ghana itself has become a shining example of this spirit of success. The Kosmos Innovation Center has evolved into an independent nonprofit organization, able to partner with other organizations and foundations to support its vision of nurturing the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses to build a healthier and more diverse economy that is fueled by local talent and innovation.

Kosmos Innovation Center in Ghana recently announced one such new partnership, a four-year $16 million program with the Mastercard Foundation called the Initiative for Youth in Agricultural Transformation (IYAT). IYAT will scale Kosmos Innovation Center’s proven transformational model and initiatives such as the AgriTech Challenge across all 16 regions of Ghana. “This partnership is a testament to Kosmos Innovation Center’s tangible achievements over the past six years,” said Kosmos Innovation Center’s Executive Director Benjamin Gyan-Kesse.
